All mushroom farm employees pay taxes.  Mushroom companies are responsible for withholding taxes from employees’ paychecks and sending them to the proper government agencies.  There are also other employer tax obligations. The major taxes paid by employers under the Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) are Medicare and Social Security taxes.  Employers are also required to pay federal unemployment and state unemployment taxes.
